2011 MATON EBG808TE Tommy Emmanuel Signature
ser#6998, Ive owned and played this, well seasoned, Tommy Emmanuel signature guitar since 2012. I learned many of Tommy’s tunes and performed them on this fine instrument.
This Maton is set up perfectly, the top color has a gorgeous warm retina now (not a fan of the brand new Maton’s new or tone), and the tone has opened up beautifully from many hours of playing over the years. Of course, the instrument really shines when plugged in because the electronics are simply amazing.
There are no issues at all. It’s in perfect playing condition, and as you can see from the pics, it’s cosmetically very clean top to bottom, with some wear on the sides of the headstock from a guitar stand.
Usually when I purchase a guitar I’ll have to invest in some tweaks to get the guitar performing well, and this one is already been done and ready to play and sound at its peak performance level.
I have owned more than one EGB808’s. They dont all sound great. This one is the best of the best, so this is the one I kept, and my last. It’s a great one. Feather weight. I think it weighs about 4 lbs. Love that.
I have some videos of me playing the Maton on my youtube channel that were done a few years ago, however, the sound quality of the recordings does not represent the beautiful tone of the instrument. I merely recorded it with my iphone to document the content of my playing not the tone of the instrument. Maybe I’ll try and capture an accurate representation of tone and put another video up.
