CJ35 Collings Sunburst Used For Sale 2013 - 1

Collings CJ35 Sunburst Sold| Used

Ser# 21446, Near Mint condition, K&K Pure Mini pickup installed, frets are like new, professional setup, low action, plays beautifully, sounds amazing unplugged and plugged in, aged long enough to acquire a warm vintage tone, light as a feather, very resonant, it’s a great one! in original Collings hardshell case

$3,450

This is the best one I’ve seen for sale by far. Why?

1) It’s the cleanest. I dont see any scratches, dings, belt buckle wear etc..

2) Like new frets. All the rest have worn frets and need some frets replaced or at minimum need to be dressed

3) Amazing sounding electronics are already installed (no batteries needed) so enjoy unplugged or plugged in right out of the box

4) Most of them are set up like a dobro, and completely unacceptable. This is set up beautifully with low action and no buzzing.

5) Aged to perfection. Sounds and plays much better than the new ones.

6) Priced too cheap. I need to come to my senses and raise the price or just keep it.

Factory specs:

The pre-war era of American flattop guitar making has come to be known as “golden” for a reason. Lauded for its short but brilliant periods of construction innovation, the years from 1930-1942 were filled with new instrument runs that featured bracing, fret access and body dimension changes that would define the features and sounds of the modern acoustic guitar. Emerging out of our fascination with this era of guitar making history, Collings is proud to introduce the CJ35. Available with a mahogany back and slope-shouldered body, this new variation of our CJ model incorporates a non-scalloped bracing configuration featuring three tone bars and a short 24 7/8″ scale length. This new design provides the CJ35 with a beautiful balance of deep piano-like bass and powerful full-bodied highs, complimented by a focused dynamic range for exceptionally even note projection. As a result, the CJ35 is one of our most versatile large-bodied guitars, well suited to both fingerstyle and strumming techniques.

SPECS:

Stellar example of the Collings CJ-35, a twist on their standard jumbo model that takes it in a more vintage-inspired direction. The goal with this model was to make a slightly warmer, slightly mellower version of the standard CJ, one that might remind the player more of a classic wartime Gibson… but of course, Collings being Collings, your typical CJ-35 sounds HUGE, loud and clear! They can be driven hard with a flatpick, but they also excel at blues and fingerstyle playing.

Features a Sitka spruce top with Collings perfect sunburst, and dark-stained mahogany back and sides. The neck is Collings’ slightly fuller “Vintage Now” carve, and features a 1 3/4″ nut and 2 3/8″ string spacing at the saddle. Short (24 7/8″) scale length, Wenge bridge and fingerboard, ivoroid binding, bridge pins and headstock logo. Waverly open-back tuners with ivoroid buttons. Comes with original TKL hardshell case.
